GALA SOLIDARITY of the Alliance Française in Gran Canaria, in favor of the Project Educational Center Rotary in La Palma.

The French Alliance of las Palmas, in collaboration with the Rotary Club, and the fundación Caixa Bank and with the board of trustees of the Foundation Auditorium Theatre of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Cabildo de Gran Canaria organized a charity gala in favor of the victims displaced by the eruption of the Cumbre Vieja volcano on the Island of la Palma.

The concert will be organized as part of the international day of la Francophonie, the March 20, 2022 at 19: 00, in the auditorium Alfredo Kraus.

The theme of the concert is the French opera in the NINETEENTH century with the famous singer canaria Cristina Ramostenor Pancho Corujo, mezzo soprano Bethlehem Elvira accompanied by the pianist Juan Francisco Parra. The program of arias and duets from opera French begins with romantic melodies of Debussy Delibes and, to continue with works more dramatic as Bizet's Carmen and finish with comic opera, with works of Offenbach.

The donations collected will go to the project for the construction of a school that is performed by the ROTARY clubs of the Canary Islands with the support of the Government of the Canary islands, to replace the destroyed school, the Field, the area of The Paradise of the Island of la Palma. The project has a budget of € 1 million was made on lands ceded by the Cabildo of La Palma.

The French Alliance of Las Palmas it was established in 1926, is a Centre for teaching French and the only Official Exams DELF/DALF of the island. It has a spacious and documentation centre organises various cultural events within the city, in collaboration with local entities and cultural centers, including exhibitions, films, lectures, concerts...

With time, the scope and the vision of Rotary spread gradually to humanitarian services.
