September 19, 2021 erupted the volcano Cumbre Vieja in the canary island of La Palma. During 85 days long, the lava did not stop the spread by several municipalities of the island, causing the evacuation of more than 7,000 people and damage to the value of nearly a billion euros.
Three of the facilities damaged by the advance of the volcano have been schools unit.
School Unit of Todoque
Faithful to our principle of supporting children and young people, from Rotary Canary islands have joined the forces of the 10 clubs in the archipelago and, with the support of the district Rotary 2201 and Humanitarian foundation of Rotary Spanishwe have implemented the project "EDUCATIONAL CENTER OF ROTARY IN LA PALMA" with the goal of building a school to replace one or several of the schools unit destroyed by the eruption.

For its construction we have the support and commitment of the Government of the Canary islands, which would provide the land and the equipment. Rotary will manage the work and raise the necessary funds, through multiple events and donations from rotarians, clubs, citizens and businesses around the world are joining this project, in a wave of solidarity rarely seen.
